iStent

Carolina Cataract & Laser Center surgeon Millin C. Budev, MD, is now offering Glaucoma patients the iStent device to reduce the need for drops in the management of Glaucoma.

iStent is the first MIGS (Microinvasive Glaucoma Surgery) device that improves your eye’s natural fluid outflow to safely lower eye pressure by creating a permanent opening in the trabecular meshwork. The trabecular meshwork is an area of tissue in the eye and it is responsible for draining the aqueous humor from the eye.

Proven safe and effective, the iStent Trabecular Micro-Bypass:

  • Is safely implanted during cataract surgery
  • Spares important eye tissue that is often damaged by traditional surgeries
  • Does not limit treatment options that could help maintain your vision in the future

See Glaukos.com for more information.

It is critical that Glaucoma patients receive ongoing treatment to prevent vision loss. Millin C. Budev, MD offers both medical and surgical treatment options for Glaucoma patients including SLT, medication management, and the iStent implantation.

If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with Glaucoma, preventative maintenance is critical to preserving vision. See your regular eye doctor for an annual eye exam or call to schedule an appointment with Millin C. Budev, MD today at (843) 797-3676.
